Frequently Asked Questions

How does it work?

Emsculpt transmits electromagnetic energy into your abdomen, thighs or butt. This energy causes the muscles to contract and the fat cells to burst. Each contraction is the equivalent of one supramaximal crunch. In a half hour treatment, your musculature performs 24,000 supramaximal contractions. In terms of a workout for your muscles, it’s like working out in the gym for nine months. Of course, this causes your muscles to grow larger while it burns fat. No other technology accomplishes both of these goals.

Does it work?

Emsculpt has been studied in 7 multicenter trials in the United States. For comparison’s sake, Coolsculpting was released after only one trial. All of the Emsculpt trials have shown similar results. There is an average reduction of subcutaneous fat of 19%, which is comparable to all the other non-invasive fat busting treatments. There is an average growth of muscle of 16%.

How long is a treatment?

Treatment of one area lasts 30 minutes.

How many sessions do I need?

You need a total of four sessions. You have two sessions the first week and two sessions the second week.

Does it hurt?

There is no pain associated with Emsculpt. You feel a tingling sensation in the area of treatment but no discomfort

Is there any downtime?

None at all. Afterward, you may feel like you had a workout. After all, your muscles did undergo the equivalent of 24,000 crunches. You also may be mildly sweaty. But, you should be able to resume your normal activities right away.

Is maintenance treatment necessary?

Emsculpt does two things. First, it burns fat by literally causing the fat cells to burst. Once these fat cells are gone, they’re gone for good. That lasts forever, unless you gain more fat. Second, it builds muscle. Just like when you do crunches on your own, the effect wears off. For that reason, we recommend that you join our membership program and get regular maintenance treatments.

Is Emsculpt right for me?

If you want to lose inches while gaining muscle definition, that goal can be accomplished by no other treatment on the market. The degree of muscle definition that you get will depend on your BMI. If your BMI is less than 30, you should get excellent results. If your BMI is over 35, you should probably lose weight with the Clean Start hCG program before using Emsculpt. Lastly, if you don’t care about abdominal definition, you can try VShape which will destroy as much fat as Emsculpt but is less expensive and does not require maintenance.
